<image:title>How It Works - To do it yourself, get the right tools.</image:title>
<image:caption>We have nothing against cool logos. (Email us if you need a cool logo.) But when we design a cool logo, we want it to be more than a logo: it has to be the right tool for the job. Tools are important, even if you’re building something easy. When you’re assembling a flat-pack table, you don’t have to be a master carpenter - but you do need the right screwdriver, or you’re in a lot of trouble. Lots of small businesses DIY their brands out of necessity, and that’s great - as long as you’ve got the right tools for the job. Running your business at home? Your visual identity can suit desktop printing. Want to manage your newly designed website? Redbrick can be your guide. Inexperienced with design software? We can optimize your social media strategy for Canva or Powerpoint. With right tools, there’s so much you can build. Redbrick can help you fill your toolbox.</image:caption>

<image:title>How It Works - Our expertise is our product.</image:title>
<image:caption>What does Redbrick bring to the table? Experience, knowledge, and a thoughtful approach. We’re here to provide solutions you might not have expected for problems you didn’t anticipate. Sometimes you don’t need all that - you just need someone to redraw the cool logo you sketched on a napkin. That’s fine! Drop us a line, and we can get you a quote. Our expertise isn’t an unnecessary extra, though. That work is how we set you up for success after our work is done. We think it’s worth it, and hope you will too.</image:caption>

<image:title>How It Works - Design should solve problems.</image:title>
<image:caption>Lots of designers out there can get you a cool logo that represents your identity and looks great on your screen. We know we’re not the only game in town! We have some questions, though. Can you print it black-and-white? If it’s got a gradient or an ombré, can it be silkscreened on a t-shirt, or stenciled on a window? If it’s very fine and elegant, how does it read when it’s small or far away? If it’s a circular icon, will it look good on a letterhead? Is it possible to get embroidered? Design should solve problems, not create more. That’s why Redbrick believes in identifying and understanding your needs.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Sidegig - Good for working from home.</image:title>
<image:caption>The client was starting a small first aid training business. Nothing too big, just a Facebook page and a Gmail account. They wanted a custom logo to feature an anatomically correct heart. This set of graphics consisted of a wordmark, a unique icon, and a touch of complementary visual elements. The subdued colour palette is appropriate for home-quality printing, but ready for professional printing, whenever that comes. Several simple configurations were developed, like a business card and a letterhead. The client themselves - who has a basic knowledge of vector design software - can prepare others as needed, using the simple components they have.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Campaign - Run, run, run.</image:title>
<image:caption>A local political campaign had two priorities: a custom visual identity to help their candidate stand out, and extreme flexibility. After all, running a campaign on a slim budget means you’ll need self-printed handouts and professional-quality ads, and you’re going to need them simultaneously. Based on the candidate’s campaign slogan, we developed a simple motif and logo in two forms: a vibrant full-colour based on party standards, and a one-tone alternative ready for printing or silkscreening. Between those two, and the visual components that followed, anything the campaign needed was in arm’s reach.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Station - How to run your own social media, forever.</image:title>
<image:caption>A local internet radio station needed the tools to help them generate pre-show social media posts. The caveat: they could only prepare things in Powerpoint. A dizzying array of bases, playing with relevant motifs and colours, pre-set with text boxes, and paired with a simple, standard typeface form the basis for easy, professional, and varied social media posts – even when your technical skills are limited.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Online Business - Design to inform and explain.</image:title>
<image:caption>redbrick maintains logosalvage.ca as a sideline devoted to the necessary, but unglamourous service of vector conversion. What’s vector conversion? Altering raster graphics (made of pixels) into vector files (made of math.) If that bored you, that’s the problem: most people never think about vector conversion until you need it done to get t-shirts printed, or embroidery work, or large-scale signs printed. So how do you explain it to potential clients? Simply and carefully. Where most explanations of vector conversion can be staid and technical, Logo Salvage’s site is filled with easy-to-follow, low-stress explanations that ease clients into making informed informed decisions. Paired with a visual language of vibrant colours, gentle curves, and sharp lines, the overall impact is decidedly friendly and approachable.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Hustle Architect - A visual language for @VitruviusGrind.</image:title>
<image:caption>The Hustle Architect is a pseudonymous account on Twitter who describes himself as “Building Strategy General, Design Guru, and Vision-Seeker Of Hustle Tectonics.” Intended as a light parody of social media “hustle and grind” personas, THA was looking to leverage their surprising following with a charity fundraiser to mark the end of 2021. THA had a clear aesthetic in mind (“Very Goofy Self-Important Pop-Up In A Very Stern Berlin Art Gallery Where I Sort Of Roll My Eyes And Feel Deeply Annoyed For A Few Seconds Then Grudgingly Admit That I Kind Of Like It,”) and a limited set of requirements beyond a “Certified Hustle Associate” membership card and a “jumping man” emoji. redbrick pitched a couple graphic motifs, a typeface that looks like Helvetica but most certainly is not, and a half-tone emoji. THA, being experienced in graphic software, was able to take it and run.</image:caption>
